The James Pharmacy is an excellent seafood restaurant located in the heart of historic downtown Hillsborough on Churton Street. Most of the seafood dishes are available as either grilled, pan seared or fried each of which is an excellent option. They have a lunch menu a dinner menu with options. Brunch is served on Sunday.

I’d strongly recommend a visit to James Pharmacy to those among us who await the reopening of the St. James in Durham.

They are closed Wednesdays.

There are sly references to the the past as a central town pharmacy mostly in the glassware and the soda fountain [one of the beer taps is used to dispense delightful house made sodas with exotic fruit flavors like mangoes. Of course the obvious reference is in the name.

Of course we’ve made a second visit

On this occasion I chose pan seared sea scallops with Cajun corn maque Choux with rice and a house Caesar.
