Lunch at Kipo’s — A trip too bountiful

Friday, April 23,2021

I finally decided to to visit Kipo’s at its new location determined to have one of the light, meatless lunches I had in the old shop on West Franklin. I nearly always sat in the alcove opposite the bar and kitchen and overlooking the patio seating listening to the restrained hum of voices and to people watch. This was a guilty pleasure often done on-the-fly.

The day was nice enough for patio dining but the area near the bar was barely occupied.

I placed my order expecting something less plentiful. I decided immediately that the grape leaves (minus 1) and salad would be packed to go. The Calamari was perfectly fried and the bread freshly baked. The olive oil, and earl grey Tea made for a very satisfying lunch.

All was beautifully plated and served. For the record the salad and grape leaves worked well with a lamb chop I grilled the next night.
