Grata is the restaurant that replaced the beloved diner Elmo’s. I am always startled at how versatile a place the Carr Mill building is to re-design when necessary. The down home clutter of Elmo’s has become the simple, elegantly airy space you see here.

The Grata house waffle is light and crispy. The maple syrup is also light—and not overpoweringly sweet. I love the single serving ‘moonshine’ jug.

I asked for a cup of berries and got a lovely, fresh, and cool cup of black, blue and straw berries. Breakfast sausages and coffee completed an excellent old fashioned meal.
